BEHIND THE BRAND

It started with a simple recipe of egg whites and sugar...

 ..and a whole lot of perseverance. I started baking for Athereal Bakery (formerly known as My Favourite Things Bakery) in 2012 at home just experimenting with a basic meringue recipe and perfecting it (Okay, and throwing away a lot of failed batches).

Although I did not have any formal culinary training, I worked with a lot of pastry chefs back then and they were my first source of inspiration.

I began documenting my journey and soon caught the attention of a stranger to bake for her event. Gradually, I started experimenting more, but then I took a break so I could focus on my studies and eventually left for a long time when I entered the airline industry.

I regained my passion for baking.

During the midst of a transitional period of motherhood, I rediscovered my passion again. Starting with wedding cakes for friends, I soon developed my own style of baking.

Today I spend the majority of my time creating modern, elegant cakes.

My cakes often posses a familiar yet surprising combination of flavours. My work allows me to be part of so many happy celebrations, and I hope to be part of many more in the future including yours.
